We 'BANNER-, Page 1 Oct. 24, 1975 ^^^Bi^^^ Stanton Nash visiting soon Stanton Nash, assistant to the president at Golden Gate Theological Seminary since 1965, will be here on campus, Mon. Oct. 27, 8-3 p.m. for interviews. He is responsible for development, public relations, alumni, publications, placement and student recruitment. Nash served as music and education director of Indian Oaks Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas; First Baptist Church, Waxahachie, Texas; First Baptist Church, Ranger, Texas; and Dauphin Way Baptist Church, Mobile, Alabama. Minister of education and church administrator, First Baptist Church, Oklamoha City, Oklahoma and First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia. He is formerly president of Oklahoma Baptist Religious Education Association (twice); Oklahoma Chapter Southwestern Seminary Alumni Association; vice- president Southwestern Religious Education Association and Southern Bafptist Religious Education Association; membership chairman, Far West District, American College Public Relations Association. Nash is a memberof the Masonic Lodge, Knight Templar and Shrin- er; member AmericanCol lege Public Relations Association, American Alumni Council, Commonwealth Club of San Francisco; Baptist Public Relations Association; S.B.C. Advisory Committee; Seminary Public Relations Council, S.B.C: Foundation of Arts. Industry and Recreation.(Marin County, California); Fellowship of Christians in the Arts, Media and Entertainment; Northern California Society of Fund Raisers: chairman, Committee on Ethics and Professional Standard; Greater San Rafael Chamber of Commerce; member, Board of Directors, Bible Displays and Lectures, Inc. He has traveled in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Czechoslovakia. Nash is the author of Adult axioms, and a frequent contributor to Sunday School Board publications. Nash was born in New Roads, Louisiana on February 6, 1915.He is married to the former Joy Bal- yeat, 1943. October 31, 1975 No aidless you apply Magnolia Avenue Baptist Church Riverside, California This 1975-76 academic year 25% more students are receiving California State Scholarships than during 1974-75. Students interested in being included in next year's total are urged to apply for this scholarship, which usually pays full tuition and fees. Students eligible to apply have been notified by mail, and should come to Student Financial Services Office to pick up the necessary applications beginning Monday October 27. The deadline for filing application to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is October 31, and must be accompanied with a filing fee of $6.50. All other applications must be submitted by December 6. A record is kept of all students who were eligible to apply, and no other financial aid can be offered until students have made application for California State Scholarship. A poster on the bulletin board by Student Financial Services Office Room 122D gives details concerning this scholarship. Music Directors coming CBC's Book of Life Building will be the location for the Music Directors' Retreat. This years retreat will be held Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. As a special guest Dr. William Reynolds, Director of the Church Music Department, Baptist Sunday School Board, will lead in a Praising '75 Hymn Festival and conduct a Hymn Sing Clinic. The Hymn Sing Clinic will feature Dr. Reynolds' new book entitled Congregational Singing. Performing at various times throughout the retreat will be Students working admissions Trouveres, Dr. Curtis L. Cheek director; Les Chanteuses, Mrs. Helen Walker director; Concert Choir, Don Howell director; and Brass Ensemble, Dr. S. E. Boyd Smith director. Thursday evening the western debut of "Kneel At The Cross" will be presented. Trouveres will be performing this Easter contata by Mark Blankenship. These three days will be filled with new musicals and arrangements to be heard by those who attend the Music Directors' Retreat. There are three students working out of the admissions office as admissions counselors. These three students are Stan Lloyd, sophomore; Scott Tracy, junior; and Chaundel Warren, junior. Their job is to present programs to prospective students in California and Nevada. These counselors present their programs at high schools, junior colleges, churches and associa- tional functions such as youth rallies. One of these counselors will go with one of CBC's preforming groups and some interested students and together they will give the basic information on the college, show a film and answer any questions that interested students might have. They try to present the different aspects of CBC and then they break up for refreshments and more individual talking with the students. SCOTT TRACY Law program coming All students interested in a law- enforcement career are invited to come with questions and comments on Friday Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. Bruce Mitchell, parole agent from California Institute for Men, will be available to provide interested students with a general overview of that department and employment opportunities. Mitchell will answer questions and give handout material at that time. The total law enforcement program is interesting, varied, and exciting. It is hoped students will take advantage of this opportunity to learn what the program has to offer. This program is quite successful in that it may start prospective students corresponding with the admissions officeatCBCforfurth- er information on enrolling. October and November are busy months for these student recruiters because it's the time of the year that decisions on colleges are being made. Right now about five schools per week are being visited and three preview nights a month are being presented through associational functions. William Reynolds Gospel Music plays Nov. 22 A Gospel Music Revue will be presented at the Corona Civic Center on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. There will be a 200 year history of gospel music in America performed by various CBC and local singing groups.
